| Posted: | | | | So from the iOS App, I ran a report on the PC version. 27 discs showed their cover art, the rest were blank. I have the art on my iPhone.
As another test, I created a blank database on my iPhone, downloaded the 27 files from my cloud Library.
No luck uploading it after the download.
I deleted every single title and still couldn't upload the library.
My library is stuck on my iPhone, and I can't even print the list.
I wish they had ANYONE supporting this product. Who do they give the money to when it's purchased?

| Posted: | | | | I feel your frustration. But running this Forum, and the Invelos web site, and the various fees requited to maintain an LLC and the ability to host on the Apple store and Amazon store are not free. Find another site where you can post thousands of pictures of cats for free and then discuss them with no limits.
Not bashing your comments or the pain you are suffering. But a lot of companies get in trouble, go out of business and take everything away. At least we still have the Forum, the Contributions and the Online downloads.
Based on your last post, it seems the restore file you are using has only 27 profiles? Is there a prior one - maybe not up to date, but at least closer to the 2800 profiles?
Other ideas: do you have access to a cloud backup of the iOS file from the past? Do you have a PC backup that would make a better file available? Any chance there is still something useful lurking in the recycle bin of the PC or iPhone?
Perhaps do a Google search for some kind of utility or hack that will let you find and recover an iOS file?
Recent versions of Windows, such as Windows 10 have a file versioning capability. You can check the properties of a file and maybe find a previous version that has been archived.
Finally, when DVDP overwrites a backup, it will rename the old with a ".bak" extension. Any chance there is one of those available? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | Okay, now I'm completely dumbfounded.
I have a iPad 4, and it's still running an old version of iOS and it has DVD Profiler for iOS on it.
I just checked it, and it has 2854 titles in it.
So it was updated early in the year, and obviously from online.
Everything should be fine with it.
So I went to upload it to the cloud, and... same DAMN error. "Error uploading collection. Please try again later." I haven't touched this at all for months.
So, now it feels like there is a problem with the online library, so I deleted the online library again, and tried to upload to the cleared online library. The same error again.
I wonder if there's some limit to the online library? size? but that iPad 4 had a perfectly fine DVD Profiler library, and it worked fine. Now I'll have to back up the iPad 4 and HOPE it may sync with the PC version. (I doubt it.)
Any thoughts? Thanks.

| Posted: | | | | Okay, I created new PC database, and did a sync from my iPad 4 running an older version of iOS, and...
Now I have an empty database on the iPad 4 and on the PC version.
Nothing, nada. NO TITLES.
So a perfectly working database on the iPad 4, won't sync with online, and when I tried to sync with the PC version of DVD Profiler, it erased all titles for both.
I backed up my iPad 4 before doing this, and now I'll restore it as well.
So there is something seriously wrong here. Two separate iOS devices, each with a different number of titles in the library BOTH used to be able to sync to the cloud library, but can't now. My iPad Pro now doesn't have a library because of testing, and with a new library, made from the downloaded 27 that were in the online library, it can successfully upload and download the online list.
I also tried to erase my online library and upload from the iPad 4 and still failed.
Any other ideas please...! |

| Posted: | | | | I would recommend to stop erasing stuff. But maybe too late now. I don't remember your answer to the questions / suggestions about finding a PC backup. Not available? Have you looked in those places I suggested? And you haven't answered my questions about your database (apologies if my bad eyes missed it). You are asking for suggestions. I am giving some, but with no feedback, I am not sure whether my suggestions have any merit - in case this happens to somebody else.
Obviously if you are restoring from something that is empty, it is no surprise that two empty things result. Maybe check the iOS sync options to see if it is possible to designate the "master." Then you can force the full side to repopulate the empty side, but it seems as if it is set backwards at the moment. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Thanks for your suggestions...
I'm not intentionally erasing anything except for the useless 27 title online library, and this is to see if I can sync with the full library.
Syncing a full 2850 title library from my iPad 4 (a separate library from my iPhones 2880 title library) to a new empty database on the PC caused a complete erasure of the 2850 title library on both the PC and the iPad. Clearly not an expected result. And YES, I was copying FROM the iPad to the PC. not syncing the other direction.
As for backups, I'm still looking to see what I have, but since I never continually used DVDProfiler on the PC and kept reinstalling as needed I doubt I have any. I'm still looking. |

| Posted: | | | | Ok, good feedback. Best of luck with the search. I think I've run out of suggestions. As you said, it is highly unusual for a situation to occur that would wipe out both databases during any kind of operation. Any chance that this webpage is helpful? | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | Quoting Lowpro: Quote: There are 3 options when creating a database with the mobile app, "Connect to DVD Profiler for PC", "Connect via DVD Profiler Online" and "Local Database". The "Local Database" type does not provide for syncing your collection with DVD Profiler for PC or DVD Profiler Online. You'll have to change your Connection Type first by selecting the "Databases" menu item. From the "Databases" screen under the "Databases" option select your database. On the next screen select the "Change Connection Type" option. From there you can change your connection type to "DVD Profiler for PC" or "DVD Profiler Online".
If your collection only exists on your iPhone select the "DVD Profiler Online" connection type.
Once you've changed the connection type to "DVD Profiler Online" return to the "Databases" screen and select your database from the "Update Database" option. From there log in to your account. Once logged in you'll be taken to the "Select Update Task" page. At the top of the page there are options to "Upload" from your iPhone or "Download" from DVD Profiler Online. Below those options you're shown a comparison of the database on your iPhone versus your database online. Select the "Upload" option.
Once uploading the database from your iPhone you'll have the option obviously to download your online database to your iPhone if you ever need to. With your online database in place you could then download it from DVD Profiler for PC if you want. Once downloaded to DVD Profiler for PC you could even start syncing locally between DVD Profiler for PC and your iPhone, occassionally uploading from "DVD Profiler for PC" to "DVD Profiler Online" keeping your online database updated as well. You'd do this by either creating a new database on your iPhone using the "DVD Profiler for PC" connection type, then downloading your DVD Profiler for PC database to your iPhone or instead change your "DVD Profiler Online" connection type to "DVD Profiler for PC" and start syncing. Did you read the above DVDProducer? It was the expected result. It's not possible to move a database in full from the mobile app to a new empty database on your PC. That's what got you in trouble to start with. (Well, that and the fact you allowed the mobile app to take precedent.) Your only option is to change the connection type of the database on your mobile device to DVD Profiler Online, then upload it to Invelos. That's where your focus should be. It's the only way. Once you accomplish that you'll be able to download your online database to DVD Profiler for PC in full. If your database is failing to upload to DVD Profiler Online your only option may be to add the titles manually with DVD Profiler for PC. Everyone has their live and learn moments. Consider this one of them. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection | | | Last edited: by Lowpro |

| Posted: | | | | Lowpro,
I would LOVE to follow your instructions successfully. and I'm 100% understanding.
For some unknown reason, I am completely unable to sync my phone or tablet with the online library. If I could I would.
The ONLY reason I was trying to sync with my PC library is because the online library fails each and every time. I'm desperately searching for some solution to allow me to get my library off of my iPhone and syncable to the online library and my iPad.
That is the heart of my problem, the rest is efforts to find any solution that doesn't make me lose years of data entry.
so far no luck. |

| Posted: | | | | What LowPro said. Only other thing comes to mind is if you have some way to backup your iOS envirnement, grab the DVD Profiler file and send it to somebody who is willing to help out. I am not an iOS user, otherwise I would have offered long ago. If you can get that file, and somebody is willing to help, perhaps they can create something you can use? Did you ever try my suggestion and Google for tools to find, extract and manipulate iOS files? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Thanks Mediadog for your suggestions and recommendations. (Sorry I didn't sooner explain that I did follow through with your suggestion.)
I'm sorry to say that this direction wasn't fruitful either. I'm trying everything I can.
I have a backup of my iOS system, and the files are now protected within iOS, so even though I have used tools to try to locate the database as part of the iOS file system, it isn't in a location that can be accessed. (My thought was to see if I could transfer the database to my iPad from my iPhone.) It seems that there was a change to iOS that protects data files from access with external utilities. I've been accessing iOS files for years, and most apps store their data in an accessible location. DVDProfiler doesn't, and therefore I've failed to find a solution this way either.
Has anyone located the database using an external application? I believe it's now locked in the app, and I don't think the app and data can be extracted, but I'll look into this again. |

| Posted: | | | | One route might be to get registered as an iOS developer. I think I did that some time ago. It should be free. You should then be able to get access to an SDK which will put an emulator on an Apple laptop. You should then be able to poke around. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Thanks for that.
I ready am a developer and for protectionX iOS has made it so that even other developers can’t get in to another apps data if not public. If my understanding Is correct.

Dave Oh no!!!! Seems like in fact you have explored all of the bases (well I hope there is at least one left that we have been overlooking ...). I really hate it when technology triumphs over mankind, and gets in our way instead of enabling and serving. But the ultimate arbiter of access is the user, right? At least on Android, the app describes requested permissions, and the user gets to decide before installation. If you wrote a simple app to access the data space where the DVDP file was located, then as the user, you could authorize the app to access your own iPhone, maybe? | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | Something changed, and I believe it's on the server side.
Today, on a whim, I tried to sync with the online library, and it did, and my full collection from my iPhone is now uploaded.
I checked, and there has been no update to the app, and no update to the version of iOS I use since the last time I tried and it failed.
So we may have no official support here, but the magic coders came in sometime and fixed whatever was causing my problem... I HOPE.
Does anyone know what changed? Has the server been going through updates since June???
Happy to have it resolved... so far.! Making a PC version backup now, and updating my collection. |

| Posted: | | | | I was wrong.
The problem is still here...
But at least I have a almost complete library on the PC version.
I started to have failed uploads again.
So what I just did was do a complete database repair, cleared my online library, uploaded my library to the online library... I'd assume this should give me a clean and intact library online.
Then I deleted my iOS copy of the app. Deleted it so it would also delete the database and all data. Now I'm doing to restore it from the online library and try to add newer titles that are missing from my database and see if I can upload that updated database back to the online version. If that doesn't work, I think I'm completely done and will look for alternatives.
Thanks friends for trying to help. Too bad the company doesn't care about us or the product. |
