Look for the next major release, version 1.2 soon.
Ken, any ETA on that ? It will included sync online feature ?
Ken rarely gives infos about ETA.
(And IMHO for good reason... there were alot of flame postings the last time in the "DVD Profiler iOS: iOS Feature Requests"-area)
Yeah, but he's not just catering to geeks who sign up for his forums any longer... now he has to appease the masses of iOS users who expect iPhone and iPod Touch Apps to "just work" and without online syncing, this one doesn't.
I'm ok waiting, I get it, but I doubt many of his new customers will. If they haven't already, they'll likely migrate over to his iOS competitor that already has online sync. He can't expect non-tech savvy customers to stick around while he takes his time making it work correctly. This is a fail on Ken's part as a business man.
Now, remember, I'm not attempting to chastise Ken--I love this product, and I WILL stick around no matter how long it takes to get the app updated, but I just wanted to point out that many will not, and for good reason. Quoting michaelzrork: Quote:

Ohhh puhleeeze . What is DVD Profiler for iOS's app competitor? What iOS app of this type even comes close to what DVD Profiler for iOS offers? Don't even mention iCollect Movies. I own iCollect Movies Pro and it isn't worth the $2.99 I spent on it...even with online sync. It has a terrible interface and it pulls all of it's data from IMDb and it can't even get that right. For example, I own the 1961 version of Disney's "101 Dalmatians" on DVD UPC #786936735413 and what does iCollect Movies do? It bulks the cast and crew for the 1961 version of the film along with the cast and crew of the 1996 Live Action version of the film with Glenn Close and Jeff Daniels...and I don't even own that version of the film . It does that with every single title of the same name even though they are completely different films with different UPC numbers. It also adds every variant of a cast member's name into the cast listing. In "3:10 to Yuma" I have Russell Crowe and Russel Crowe. By the way, I own both the 1957 version of "3:10 to Yuma" and the 2007 version, different films of the same name with entirely different UPC#s, yet the cast for the 1957 version is the same as the 2007 version. The cast and crew of my 1960 version of "The Alamo" is mixed with the cast and crew from the 2004 version of the film. It's a piece of junk . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Let me first say that I have never written a line of code and have no idea whatsover what it takes to develop an app, especially one as good as this and I also agree with Max this IS the best out ther right now but on the other hand it HAS been a long time since we have seen anything come out. I am not talking about a super duper greatly enhanced taking advantage of new technology update, there are a number of feature requests and bug submissions that have been out there for months and months that surely a small update would have addressed. I'm really hoping that with the release of the new IOS and iCloud we will see that super duper update I spoke of earlier but with Ken it's hard to tell...c'mon Ken make us all happy | | | Tom

My Movies for iPad or iPhone is not a bad little app. Their desktop version is a little pricey though and the pricing structure is off the wall...Purchase Points? Can they make it any more complicated? I agree with you though. It has taken far too long for invelos to revamp the online collection as they promised years ago. It has remained the same drab, non-functional waste of web space ever since I purchased the product over 10 years ago. I'd also like the ability to sync with my online collection as well, if not just to have another means of emergency backup. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | ...and now, more than 250 days since we were told to look for version 1.2 "soon", no news have yet reached me for an ETA.
I've been put off several times by support, who won't help me make the app work I'm just it's simplest way, under the ever reoccuring sentence, that; "the new version soon will come out"
Where is it?
Do you want me to wait another 250 days for the update? Then it won't be a quarter thousand days (!!!), but half a thousand days since the coming update was announced.
Measure my patience, and tell me what to expect.
I meen; I bought your pc-software many years ago, and I bought your iOS app a year ago. I've paid my dues, and now (or really a year ago!) it is your move. Do something with my money, so it'll work.
Thank you, and goodbye! [sound of a door slamming!] |

Hi, which Monday?
I cannot update my collection anymore, my version continues to crash (2.000 occurencies). That is THE question that we would all like an answer to. | | | Tom

| Posted: | | | | Maybe Ken said "soon" because he anticipated when iOS 5 came out (in Oct 2011) he would need to update the program for compatibility with iOS 5. Well, there is no big compatibility with iOS 5 so maybe Ken postponed the update. |

| Posted: | | | | My love for this product... the "you need to download this app" word of mouth credibility Invelos had earned from me, has officially died with the lack of updates or communication regarding the DVD Profiler for iOS. It's been a few days shy of 1 year and 4 months since the last update. I'm going to assume this app is dead. Time to search the app store for something better. |

| Posted: | | | | It's sad, but I think you are right. No communication. No information. No updates. No bug-fixes. No replies from Invelos. Absolutely nothing. Nada. And the worst thing is they don't even care if their app has critical bugs with data loss. | | | Last edited: by No-way |
