With regards to complexity, DVD Profiler is actually extremely simple, but even complex applications performs fine with Java. But as with any language, if you do not know what you are doing, you can easily end up with something that doesn't perform. Thanks for the inside informations. I just wrote what i remembered from some tech guys a few years ago. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the replies. I've programmed PHP, ASP.NET, Visual C#, C++ and some others, but must say never been the biggest fan of java especially on the windows side.
The biggest issues is interfaces tend to be very basic and have a very 'linux' feel to them....
Have to see is C# or something else has a porter across to objective C. |

| Posted: | | | | With the next release of OS X this summer you will be able to run apps on a Mac. That might be a good bet to get DVD Profiler on OS X (if the iPhone/iPad app is released by then). In the meantime, we make do with virtual machines. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm with all the previous posters - DVD Profiler is the only reason I have a Windows emulator on my Mac. Without direct Mac support, sooner or later I will drop DVD profiler.. And yes, I would definitely pay for it in advance! Maybe with even Mac users making a deposit for a native Mac version that would swing the tide. |

With the Mac app store in development, I think that DVD cataloging is still a relativity untapped goldmine for developers who can put out a product that actually works well. That's an interesting thought. Once the Mac App Store does exist, just how different are Mac apps going to be from iOS apps? Could an iOS app be easily ported over as Mac app? |

iOS is based on OS X, but I don't know how big the differences are for developers. The Mac App Store means that you can buy/update Mac Apps in the same easy way as you can buy/update iOS apps for your iOS devices with the App Store in iTunes. It is a distribution channel for software. iOS apps are different to Mac apps, so those apps have to be completely rewritten to use them on Macs. Same for DVD Profiler Windows Version: It has to be rewritten to run on a Mac. However I would love to have a Mac version. Maybe Ken will listen.... | | | Registered: August 14, 2002 with DVDP 2.x |

And I will pay for this Version! Just want to add a ditto on this. I own one of those crap mini lap-tops things JUST for Profiler. I am no Apple fanatic, but jeez after burning thru 3 expensive Windows computers in 5 years....well, it is true, once you go Mac, you never go back! Profiler NEEDS to be on Mac. |

| Posted: | | | | Gotta say, while I don't really want a desktop version, the lack of features on the iOS version are slightly frustrating at the moment, and I'd love to see a Mac version for that full functionality.
That said, what I'd RATHER have is a more feature rich iOS version. |

You might want to check out Parallels. There are usually special prices on it a couple times each year and you can run a fully functional trial version for some 30 days. |

| Posted: | | | | I think DVD Profiler for MacOSX is something many will look forward to, as it is a platform popular for media and entertainment. Unless, the iOS version grows to the extend it is unecessary for a desktop version, which means we can contribute profiles, have multiple backups, generate online collections etc Hmmm...maybe we DO NEED a MacOSX version |

| Posted: | | | | I too am holding on to Windows (in a VM) purely so I can run DVDP. I'd love a OS X version as well, just so I can finally get rid of Windows at home. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |
