| Posted: | | | | What it could be great is also to have a coverflow view like we have on iPod app on the iPhone. Maybe also the little game like to on the WM version of DVD Profiler to guess what is the cover. After that, all classic features likes search, filter... | | | Regards Cyrille |

Real life scenario: You're sitting on the couch with a guy/girl you want to impress. You hand them your iPad and ask them to pick a movie they'd like to see. They find one and hand the iPad back to you, indicating that this is the one they want to see. Without even needing to get up to locate the disc and insert it in the player and thus leaving this person alone even briefly, you tap a button and the HDTV comes to life and the movie starts playing. | Posted: | | | | This actually applies to the regular mobile (and has been requested) and some touched on it with scanning the barcodes but it would be nice that after you add a profile to your collection on the iPod\iPad (possible with DVD Profiler Mobile) it will download the entire profile (not possible with DVD Profiler Mobile). This should be optional (prompt to download complete profile now) since iPod touches and iPads may not have access to the internet at that time. Even the iPhone that would have the data plan may be in a no service zone while in a store. Oh and please add this to the Windows Mobile version too -Agrare |

-Agrare While this is good, it definitely should be optional. Otherwise it would take weeks to download my collection. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

| Posted: | | | | My feature wishlist:
- possibility to not only consult collection but make changes as well, in particular in these fields: ° Every field in the 'watched by' pop-up window ° Review scores (extended: movie, video, audio, extra's) - possibility to use cast & crew linking (click on a cast member and see what other movies he or she played in) - possibility to enter or adapt cast and crew on the fly - possibility to sync with DVDP on desktop PC or even better, sync through the Invelos website (without physically connecting with the desktop PC) - possibility to enter personal data on the fly (purchase place, price paid, etc) - barcode scanning to add new profiles by downloading them from invelos servers or by manually entering new profiles
Bascially, I want to use this software to: - enter data while watching movies, without having to go back and forth between watching room and desktop computer or laptop (enter cast, crew, review score, watched by data, etc) - check in store what I have purchased already and add on the fly purchase info (where bought, price paid, etc) | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

I'm primarily interested in being able to edit the "personalize" stuff. Other points of interest: - Sort and search options - Filtering (by cast/crew/prod year/genre/rating/review if possible) - Ability to work offline (I'm an iPod Touch user) - Perhaps a "lite" version of movie pick - A tasteful little icon to put on the front page of my iPod Also previously mentioned - Coverflow (where when tapping a poster, the reverse side shows some basic film or "personalize" info (I have no idea of feasibility within Apple's SDK) Random pluses - a fart button (dub it Leslie Nielson's iWhoopie feature?) - something to do with b00bs - something to do with bodily fluids - a personality test | | | Last edited: by IronWaffle |

While this is good, it definitely should be optional. Otherwise it would take weeks to download my collection. Why would it take weeks? I'm talking about when you add a new title to your collection. Currently if you do so on the Mobile version all you have is title, upc, locality, release date and a few other bits of information (as shell if you will). The next time you sync it will download the complete profile. What I am asking for is that since the data plans on these devices are so common the option (I did say for it to be a prompt, could also have a default setting to never download unless manually initiated) to download the new profile right on the device not having to wait for the next sync. I don't understand where any downloading of your collection would be taking place. On another note I totally agree with being able to edit (at a minimum) all personal information and tags. I would love this on the windows mobile version as well. -Agrare |

I would also like an easy sync option. I've never used the mobile version, so I'm not sure how it would work, but I have a desktop, a laptop and an iphone. I'd like to know that they all have the same information if I make changes on one of them. Thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, the primary thing I would want it the ability to check what I own quickly while at the store or something. That's something I've wanted for ages. Number two, which I didn't think of but is an awesome idea suggested here, is the ability to input the "watched by" info. I always forget to update that stuff, but if I could do that on my phone WHILE watching and have it update back to the main program, that'd be pretty awesome.
Also, if there could be some way to get the DVD profiler data back and forth between Mac/PC, I'd really appreciate it. I use my iPhone on my mac with iTunes there, but obviously DVD Profiler is in windows. So if there could be some kinda file I could transfer between the two, that'd be awesome. Maybe just syncing with online data between the two of them or something?
Really looking forward to this app. |

-Agrare I'm just judging by Samuel's My Movies Rack app, which just uses the barebones info from the DVDP online site. It took 14 hours to download my collection on that; it takes about 2 hours to do an update. 8500+ profiles takes a while, and if you're downloading the whole thing it's a long haul. Now, if it will directly synch to the desktop version rather than fooling with the online at all (in my view essential) it should transfer data a lot faster. But I have yet to see an iPhone app that will synch directly to anything on my Windows desktop. Apple is just as difficult about such things as M/S is. Fast sorting and filtering is essential with a db this big as well. Don't need headshots or any fripperies like that. Linking would be nice but not essential. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

| Posted: | | | | Smart Cover Loading Load all profiles first displaying no covers (yet). Queue all front covers for download followed by rear covers. Any profiles that need covers retrieved that are on the user's screen get instant priority. Any rear cover that's displayed but not fetched gets instant priority. If any pending cover that is currently in view is downloaded, display it immediately. Also bump the priority of covers a page down from the current view as (I believe) the tendency is to scroll down.
Smart Profile Loading Download a shell of the profile first with essential data to speed up the initial load. Then populate with the full profile as needed or when idle. | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |
