Sorry, but I don't subscribe to the mob mentality! It's not mob mentality. It's the users of this forum trying to self-police it when the owner refuses to do so. |

It's not mob mentality. It's the users of this forum trying to self-police it when the owner refuses to do so. And where exactly is the difference to a mob?? | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

But because I myself would never, ever consider trying to force the owner of the (any) site to do something he don't want/see a need to do on his own. After all it is his site to do with as he pleases.
I as part of the community can either choose to stay at the site as he sees fit to make it or decide to leave the site. But for me to try to force what I feel is right in my opinion on the person that owns the site is something I could never bring myself to do.
If you get a group together that wants to do so... more power to you... and good luck. I just won't be a part of it. I agree. And since Ken stated in the moderation trial thread that some things already has been changed (full 24 hours ban) I see no sense in boycotting the forum and/or contributions. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm with Pete (Addicted2DVD) on this one. The best way to combat someone who is demeaning and combative is to just not play the game. Boycott the individual, not the sandbox. I personally believe Ken is trying to keep an open forum and not become a dictator. If someone calls you names and puts down your opinion, let your beliefs stand on their own and don't respond to inflammatory remarks. The person doing the name calling only makes themselves look bad. If you don't join in, the only thing they can do is stop...or look even more like a bully when they continue slinging mud. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. | | | Last edited: by mreeder50 |

| Posted: | | | | I don't think it's a good method to do change things. This kind of post/methods are in the favor of Skip and will show him as a "martyr". I don't want to take position pro or again Skip because I don't participate enough in the forum to know all the reasons and in generally noone is only white or only black. If I don't participate more in the forum is to avoid this kind of recurrent issue/discussion... but I think the forum should have more moderation and actions (no only remove post not correct) taken to calm down the atmosphere in the forum. | | | Regards Cyrille |

| Posted: | | | | Well there's the last time i try and pitch an idea. Obviously from the posts here no one here could organise a pi$$ up in a brewery if they tried.
Well there where some posts which where against the concept but at least they gave a good explanation why. | | | Last edited: by ShinyDiscGuy |

| Posted: | | | | I don't have anything against Skip, so I don't really see what the problem is. Sure, he can be a little harsh and direct, but I haven't read anything yet that gives me a clue as to why there's a need for a thread like this. The mentality shown by some here, reminds me of something out of pre-school. | | | |

Oh, you could have one other go. There's a user here who on at least three occasions admitted that he's deliberately trolling this forum. Try to organize a boycott against him. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | From the forum rules: "Repeated harassment of another member" is a banning offence.
How is your suggestion any different than the way Skip occasionally treats people? The only difference I can see is that Skip treats everyone the same way - whereas your suggestion is blatant harassment of another member.
Not a wise move IMO. |

Well when someone refuses to acknowledge a problem the only way to resolve that problem is to sabotage the threads. I hardly see you coming up with any ideas oh wise one. |

Not a wise move IMO. Obviously you haven't been around long enough to know that the rules aren't exactly being followed by those who made them. So in that case i think it's fair to assume that if there is no authority we make the authority. People really are to nice in this place and afraid to get there hands dirty. We should put welcome to Invelos Forums will the last person to leave pleases turn out the light. | | | Last edited: by ShinyDiscGuy |

Sorry to pick on you but it's one of my pet peeves. There is a difference between there, they're and their. You seem to always use 'there'. A smart guy like you with all the answers certainly knows the difference. |
