Can you make it so it knows that the window is there and so that it can load a database at startup? Same Problem. New awards window, every new start of DVDP. But the "saved" new awards window is also there / available (but without function). |

| Posted: | | | | Tom, Great work, I really enjoy it (as for the "closing bug" who would ever want to close this window... ). Seconding the issue about the television seasons remark. It is a bit hard to get the right Hugo awards mentioned with the Babylon 5 series -- and they've won so many! I think it is also great that you can click around the tree list and see more. That brings me to a wish: top levels are now "won" and "nominated". Once there is browsing through the tree, an "above all" entry mentioning the person/film/... for which the tree is shown would be great. For instance, at present, starting from "Back to the future" you can click on "Zemeckis", then "Forrest Gump" and seeing all gongs for the latter movie -- but the main DVD Profiler window is still on Back to the Future. Alternatively, just a suggestion, a right click somewhere like in the "Name Variant" plugin leading you to the movie currently in detail in the awards window would be nice. Anyway, just some thoughts. Once again, great, works like a charm! | | | Eric

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Tom, I have been looking forward to this!
As for the TV Series issue, or any other Awards that "should be there" but aren't showing up: The plugin uses the Original Title field only to find the Awards; as I found out and Tom confirmed to me in PM recently. However, the Awards files originally created as spreadsheets and then converted to the text files, the Original Title file was mainly used for "foreign films", where the Original Title was in a different language.
That is why, for example, you may find that the Oscars for The Godfather may not show up, as the DVD Profiler Original Title is "Mario Puzo's The Godfather". So the line in the text file must be Mario Puzo's The Godfather|The Godfather|Godfather|1972|0|Academy Award|Best Picture|X|Albert S. Ruddy (Producer) instead of The Godfather|||1972||Academy Award|Best Picture|X|Albert S. Ruddy (Producer)
I am going to convert the spreadsheets to use the Original Title field for "on screen title" from now (well, at least the lists I co-created, Academy Awards and Golden Globes) and then provide them to TomGaines.
Besides the Godfather Series I am aware of the Star Wars series and the Lord of the Rings films. If you find more, please PM me so that I can change the entries accordingly. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | OMG Tom,
This is almost as exciting as Ken moving to Invelos and providing us with 3.0.
This was indeed the one I was waiting for. What a nice tool.
Thanks a lot man. | | | Greetz, Marc Castermans

Otherwise you are correct Hmmm, should have been more clear, I guess. I was referring to the Original Title field of the Awards file, not the one in DVD Profiler... | Posted: | | | | Not sure if anyone can confirm this, but changing Layouts seems to mess things up a bit...
If I load another layout and then my standard layout with the Awards window, the background is blue (instead of white and Awards are no longer shown. I have to remove the existing Awards window, then open a new instance and put it in the preferred space... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | Plugin is working great. One question i have.
What if a Title differs from the one in the Awards files?
For example: What's Eating Gilbert Grape?. Dutch, Belgian and UK versions have the "?" in the title. The US versions don't. The Award files have the version without the "?" so in DVDProfiler, the other versions of the DVD do not show the awards. | | | Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: 'WOW What a Ride!!! |

The Awards window u see is a "new window" without any awards shown and if u look at CCViewer -> Panels -> Awards, it's not selected anymore. If you do select it u get "Object Reference not set to an instance of an object" and awards are still not show. Like ya_shin said, the only way to get it working again is to replace the window. | | | Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: 'WOW What a Ride!!! |

The Award files have the version without the "?" so in DVDProfiler, the other versions of the DVD do not show the awards. My aim is, that the original title field in the award data is handled the same, as you would handle it in Profiler. In my opinion, there can only be one original title for a movie. Of course it is possible that the original title field in the award files is incorrect. I always welcome changes to it. For me the easiest to handle changes is, when the awards are edited in "Cinematic Collection Viewer" and then exported from there and sent to me. | | |

Can you shed any light?
Thanx
