If it's a two to one sales ratio then BD isn't going to increase that ratio simply by matching blockbuster releases...It won't change. It will still be 2-1...SImple enough? You do realize that SI and YTD numbers are not in ratios, right? Therefore, why are you trying to save face by changing the premise from SI and YTD numbers to ratios? You want to change the equation. That's fine. Let's look at a the probability of a ratio increase for Blu-ray. HD DVD has 67 titles for the 4th quarter so far (not counting re-issues, of course). Blu-ray has 129 titles for the 4th quarter so far. HD DVD big titles are Knocked Up, Next, Transformers, Shrek 3, Bourne Ultimatum, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Those are your big ones announced so far (and the first 2 are already gone). Blu-ray has FF2, Spiderman 3, Die Hard 4, The Simpsons Movie, Pirates 3, Superbad, and Rush Hour 3 for 4th quarter (FF2 being out now). HD DVD has 4 titles left for this quarter. Blu-ray has 6 left for this quarter. Now, taking into account how much more Blu-ray titles sell over HD DVD titles, do you think that would warrant a ratio move in Blu-ray's favor? The math says so. That's not even counting the other catalog titles that have already been announced. Plus, Blu-ray STILL have a few other day & date releases to add the the total ratio and SI and YTD numbers. Then, there is the PS3 effect this holiday as well. Do you remember what happened to the Blu-ray software sales numbers last holiday season? Just admit you were wrong and let's move on, ok? | | | To err is human... ----------- 473 Blu-ray Titles |

| Posted: | | | | I wasn't wrong so I have nothing to admit. Are you really going to start with your crap again? I didn't change anything. I used a 2-1 sales comparison. It's a 2-1 ratio...Is that too complicated for you? I don't intend to confuse you. You're the one who keeps coming out with the 2-1 thing, so I used it. |

Just admit you were wrong and let's move on, ok? There goes A_S with his favorite proclamation: I'm right and your are wrong. Just move on.Your rantings get more delusional and one sided with every posting, you really need to seek help. |

I didn't forget that BD is outselling HD. You missed my point.
The number of 07 blockbusters is about even for Q4 releases...
New HD players are out with retail pricing below $300 and street pricing below that, obviously. You can get into the HD game for around $220 right now if you look for it.
Maybe you're looking at it wrong...YTD and SI numbers will rise for HD DVD also, that's kind of the way sales figures go. If everything plays out no differently than current YTD trends then BD won't increase its lead. They will both grow in unison.
With 30 Paramount titles already in the works for 08 I think an educated guess could be made that the entire number will be higher for the year. I wonder who typed that post quoted. Geez. | | | To err is human... ----------- 473 Blu-ray Titles |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, um that would be me. You know, the name that is included. What's your point? Are you trying to say that I mentioned YTD and SI numbers? Yup, I did. Didn't deny it. What's your point? I also mentioned a sales ratio. What's your point. I even said that Hd players can be bought for around $220. What's your point? You name is Ascended_Saiyan...what's your point?
Hi everyone, I'm twojayz...Nice to meet you. Wait, what's my point? I guess when you try to point out pointlessness in another persons point it's relatively pointless. |

I'm not sure, but I believe the cheap Funai (brand names such as Sylvania, Magnavox, Emerson, Symphonic, etc.) BD players are suppose to be released this holiday season. | | | To err is human... ----------- 473 Blu-ray Titles |

'Jack Ryan' Special Edition HD DVD Not So Special? In what may end up being the biggest packaging blunder yet for a high-def title, Paramount's 'Jack Ryan Collection' HD DVD appears to have shipped to retail in a deluxe "Special Collectors Edition" box set that contains none of its advertised bonus features.
First announced earlier this summer, the four-disc 'Jack Ryan Collection' was originally planned for dual-format release on September 25. Although the studio would eventually scrap the Blu-ray version and push back the street date by nearly a month to October 23, the box set remained among the more highly-anticipated titles of the season.
Now, with the set's official street date only a week away, the HD DVD edition of 'The Jack Ryan Collection' has begun shipping to retail, but fans who were initially delighted to snap up early copies of the set began noticing something strange as they dived into the four-disc set.
As first reported yesterday by fans on several forums (including our own), despite the "Special Collector's Edition" label clearly stamped across the front cover of each disc in the set, and a list of bonus features promoted on the box art (including audio commentaries, featurettes, and more), as yet no one has been able to find the advertised supplementary material on any of the actual discs.
We here at High-Def Digest received our own copy of the final product direct from Paramount on Monday, and after combing through each disc, we too were unable to find a single supplemental feature anywhere on the entire set.
At press time, Paramount had not yet responded to a request for a comment on the apparent packaging snafu, but we'll keep you posted as soon as any official information comes in on the matter. Stay tuned
