For now I give up on this, and just do it all manually. Good thing that my first changer is almost filled Well I am so confused. You say the error disappeared, but you also say you are going to "give up". Why did you even bother to tell me about the problem if you don't have the patience to help me solve it? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Of course I want to help you solve it, but at the moment I don't know how. That's ok. Non-problems are easy to solve. But it is not clear to me what problem remains. As far as I know BE works just fine on location and slots. Did you actually try that or just "give up" while letting me think there is still some kind of problem? That's not fair. The least you could do is to try my last recommendation - no need to click DataCrawler menu. Just load the flagged profiles and edit. That's it. If you don't have the patience to try that, I will be very disappointed. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. |

| Posted: | | | | I tried that, but it didn't work for me. Alll I can think of now is that somehow it might got corrupted during installation. Will try tomorrow, it's now past 11pm. | | | Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer. |

Ok thanks. Here are my results: Windows Vista Home Premium, pre-SP1, DVDP 3.5.1 Build 1252: - flagged some profiles - started Bulkedit 1.13 - yes to the backup question - checked Disc Information, Location, Slot <---- you didn't tell me what you did here - LOAD - flagged profiles - overwrite sheetdata -yes- - made a change to one of the location fields - Save Validated changes No errors. Which fields are you checking for display? No need to check any that you are not updating, unless you need that info in order to edit properly, such as title or collection number. The rest, leave unchecked. It will be faster, and maybe you will avoid the bug. By the way, DVDP allows you to save and restore flag sets - you CAN flag more than one at a time! Also, Database Query plugin will flag a bunch of profiles based on search criteria. Then you can save the flag set. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. If you still have any patience left, you could try an earlier version. I have back to V1.09 still on my web site. Otherwise, thanks for what you did, so at least I have some better info for trying to fix later. Even though you didn't say, I assume that you had only Location and Slot checked for display/edit - or not? This is very important for me to know. Thanks. | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | O yes.. it was only location and slot for me, as I'm preparing the dvd's for when my next Dacal is coming (And I think I need some more after that). Trying an older one. Btw. I'm still using XP with SP3 and the newest version of DVDp. 1.09 and 1.10 gives me the same. Going to try 1.11 and 1.12 later today (after a needed nap ) | | | Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer. | | | Last edited: by EdwinK |

1.09 and 1.10 gives me the same. Going to try 1.11 and 1.12 later today (after a needed nap ) Going back and looking at that screen. It almost seems like there is some interaction with another application window, which should not be possible. Just on a wild hunch, try closing any other plugin or HTML section windows, especially mine (I notice th barcode window is there. I wonder if two apps are using the same resource within the DVDP umbrella - shouldn't be possible, but ... | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | I'll try that. As you might have seen I've got other problems with another plugin as well, so if all else fails, I might reinstall from scratch, and see what happens then. | | | Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer. |

Not sure, but here is what I would suggest: (1) First of all, if you are making a change to one profile, there is no need to use BulkEdit. Just double click on the profile in the collections window and edit the Notes field. (2) However, if you want to change a bunch of profiles at once, especially if you are copying the same or similar data into a field, then BulkEdit can be helpful. In this case: - Flag the titles of interest (you can use filters or Database Query to select the ones you want) - Open BulkEdit and check Notes, then Load Flagged Profiles - At this point, you can treat the datagrid like a spreadsheet. Edit the Notes cells directly. Do not double click (that will bring up the DVDP editor). My Notes editor is not as powerful as the one in the main program, but it does accept Rich Text. As you make changes, you will note that the cell and row are highlighted to indicate that a change is pending. - If you want to copy and paste into multiple rows, use the MultiCopy tool. It might save some time. When finished with all your changes, you can Save Validated Changes (or you can do a validation run and check the log first before you do the Save). If you find that you are trying to do something that is not possible, or difficult, please post here, and I will consider a fix that can be put into a future release. Good luck. Keep us posted. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | I am officially bamboozled......
I am trying to update the 'Location' field for a number of movies. (I have different storage locations)
I flag a dozen of so profiles to test. Run bulk edit, load flaggeds profiles and overwrite sheet - All Fine. If I click in the Collection number field then it becomes editable but if I click in the Location field it is locked. So obviously I cant use search and replace as it says the same thing. "Target Column is ReadOnly" Obviously the Location field is meant to be editable as it has an '*' . I have ticked Collection Number, Disk, and Location as the columns that show up on the sheet.
Whats really annoying though is that one time it actually worked (out of the blue) and i didnt do anything different that i know of.
I am sure I am missing a simple requirement but dont have any idea what it is!
Thanks for any help. |
