I realize this is something that most around here don't even want to think about around here... I normally don't either... but I knew I had a lot given to me this year so I was curios...

I REALLY need to thank a lot of generous friends that I have... for 2012 alone...

SRP: $10,685.01
Paid: $546.94
Saved: $10,138.07

You really haven't saved anything.  You'll need that $10,000 for DVD storage.

To be honest I don't know how much I paid or saved for my addiction. I think I don't want to know. As far as I can afford to buy DVD's and Blu-rays I do so. I don't use the statistic function of the profiler and I keep my fingers crossed that my wife don't find it!

No idea how much I saved but this is what I've spent in 2012.

868,96 $US / 742,39 $CAN /  46,55 £ for 140 DVDs and 16 blu-rays.

First year I've purchase more from the USA than my country, but I buy my DVDs directly from the label more often those days. They got more money and it's better for them in that rough economic time (of course many of them happen to be friends too).

Another year has gone by, and I still haven't built (or haven't had built, rather) the cases I want for my collection.

As usual, I didn't spend much, but I also didn't ask for any this year from others, so I added a whopping 4 purchases to my collection although all were tv series related.

I spent $2,968.72 on DVDs and Blu-rays in 2012, the smallest amount I've spent in any given calendar year... ever. Averaging more than $4,000 each year since 2003. 2011 was $5,478.23.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I spent $2303.14 in 2012 on DVDs and Blu-rays, the largest amount I've spent in any given calendar year.  I blame Blu-ray, which accounted for 48% of my disc purchases this year.
