If you've already purchased DVD Profiler for PC, do you have to still pay an additional $8.99 for the iOS version?

Yes, it is a different program. You would also have to pay extra for the Windows mobile version and I'm sure for the upcoming Android version.

No, that's perfectly reasonable.  A completely different program, with significant development effort involved. Why would you expect to get that for free?

The alternative would have been to let the buyers of the PC program pay for the developmenr of the Windows Phone, iOs and Android versions as well, whether they are using them or not. Now THAT would be poopy...

What is sad for my point of view is that you don't have a way to try a test version to ensure it fitt your need before buying like for the PC version

Make it free and give the user the option of either entering the key or use an in-app purchase to unlock the functionality.

But that's just to say that I think it's technically possible, not that I'd advocate it.

I bought both! For a few years I have been using the pc version in Windows. I just recently had to get an ipad and was only too glad to purchase the app from here! I love that the ipad version has an integrated scanner! Makes life much easier! Buy it for both, it's worth it!

In a perfect world, yeah, PC & App (for whichever platform) could be done that way.

Got the program for my PC ages ago, I had been testing all these different programs, DVDPro came out top, then when I got an iphone, I just had to go buy the app so I could check my collection before I ended up buying (more) duplicates!!

Separate purchases seems to have paid off for me in the long run!

apple would not allow the app to unlock using the pc code. such "in app" features that are paid, must go through the app store and apple must take their cut.

that being said, the value is there all day long... i bought it the first day and it's been great. the price is reasonable for what you get now and what you will get in the future, even if it takes a long time.

I have no issue with paying $9.00 for an IOS version as it is a completely different platform.

Would however like to see it integrate with social media (read Facebook).

BTW: I use the IOS version all the time, every time I purchase a DVD/BR I check on my iPhone to see if I already own it and seeing I have about 10 double ups in my collection the IOS version could have saved me about $200 over the years

PS. Facebook, Facebook, Facebook integration!

UPDATE: A few months ago, the App store had it on sale for $4.99, so I bought it. It IS pretty handy.
