| | Posted: | | | | Depending on the success of the iPhone app, is it possible we could see a mac edition of DVD profiler? This would be great for me as I recently bought an iMac. One of the only things I'm still using my windows laptop for is DVD profiler. A Mac version of the program would be greatly appreciated, and successful in my opinion as their aren't many quality DVD programs available on the mac platform. |

Until then running DVD Profiler in a virtual machine seems to be the best solution when you are stuck on a Mac. |

It's the only program I boot into Windows for. Another reason I'm really looking forward to the iPhone version-- so I don't need to go into Windows as often. |

Speaking only for other software I've come across that have PC/Mac & iPod/iPhone/iPad versions, to date the creation software has only been on Mac. I'm not saying that that has to be the case, only what I've personally seen. |

| | Posted: | | | | I would be more than happy to pay an extra $15-20 for a mac version. I think it would benefit Invelos extremely as the Mac DVD catalog programs are very, very weak. I've tried DVDPedia and Delicious, but both suck compared to DVD Profiler.
With the Mac app store in development, I think that DVD cataloging is still a relativity untapped goldmine for developers who can put out a product that actually works well. |

But I don't know if it is the most efficient language for such a complex database program. If I remember correctly, a program of such complexity would be really sluggish. |

I am not impressed with the language (it's simply not keeping up with .NET), but performance hasn't been a problem for years. With regards to complexity, DVD Profiler is actually extremely simple, but even complex applications performs fine with Java. But as with any language, if you do not know what you are doing, you can easily end up with something that doesn't perform. | | | Regards
