| Posted: | | | | Now the summer is here, let's collect some bugs. I know we are not doing any release testing, but maybe this will come in useful someday.
First bug I regularly encounter has to do with focus. When you are working for example in the Ordered tab, and move a profile to Owned (right click, move to), you remain in the Ordered tab and the cursor moves to the next profile (apparently anyway). If you now try to do some action on the selected profile, like editing or also moving, you get an "access violation" error. This can be avoided by first specifically selecting the profile, even if the cursor is already there.
No harm is done to the data, and the program can be continued without problems. But still a confusing sort of error. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | Another bug has to do with copy cast or crew data, also when copying sections.
Special characters with accents can be entered by using Window' Character Map. Several different results are possible. Characters that can also be entered by ALT+number sometimes show up as a vertical bar, but show up properly in most places, example š. Characters that have no such ALT+number entry possibility are usually replaced by the basic letter without the accent, example c which in cast or crew is replaced with c.
When the first type of characters (š) are copied in cast or crew names or roles, the special characters are replaced by an underscore, leading to double entries in the local cast or crew data. (The second type gives no problems since the c remains just that).
edit: I note that editing a post also replaces c with c... | | | Hans | | | Last edited: by Staid S Barr |

| Posted: | | | | A third bug has to do with contributing profiles.
In many cases, when a new contribution is uploaded (no checkboxes to select which data to upload or not, so all is selected), the release date apparently does not stick. The source for the release date was properly indicated, but when the profile is later offered for synchronization, it has not date. When the profile is later re-uploaded to supply the release date again (same source information), the date does stick. I wonder if this has anything to do with profiles from regions/localities where the release date is not on a Tuesday (as almost always in the US). Does the original contribution apply a filter, that is absent from later contributions? | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | Only a minor thing, but in the "comparison"-window or the "edit profile"-window the release date info is named "DVD Release", even when you select a BluRay. A format-neutral name like "Release" or "Release Date" would be better / more correct. |

| Posted: | | | | Hi there! I just found a nice little bug that crashes DVD Profiler completely with a "Floating Point division by zero"-error. If you edit your own report (Under Tools / Reports) and you add an "Aspect Ratio"-field, try to make it as little as possible using one of the corners to size it. Sometimes it even crashes if I just click on it. Very weird. The little blue dot is the resized field. Aside from that, everything else is perfect :-). Bye! |

The little blue dot is the resized field.
Then don't resize it too small.. The program would probably do the same with any image if you made it so small it was unusable - I'm guessing that it's using the size of the image in deciding how to center it or something like that. | | | Paul |

Good idea... "If I make this movement it hurts!" "Then don't make that movement!". Seriously... 1. It's not an image. If I resize an image it's not crashing. Just when I edit an "Aspect Ratio"-field as far as I can tell. 2. If it sometimes crashes when I just click on the NOT RESIZED field and it crashes, then something must be wrong. |

| Posted: | | | | Maybe not a bug, but an annoying "feature":
When you create a new profile, you are asked to fill in a title and select a region. Next, when you go to edit the profile, the title has been copied, but the region selection is blank.
I would suggest to either remove the possibility to select the region, or copy what was filled in. | | | Hans |
